As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide essential support to individuals experiencing severe mental health issues within a psychiatric setting. Your role will be pivotal in facilitating therapeutic group activities, assisting with food services, documenting patient observations, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in delivering care to clients with severe mental illness.
- Engage in therapeutic group activities to promote recovery.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and observations.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for all clients.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year in mental health or healthcare; or currently enrolled in or graduated from a behavioral health-related academic program.
Skills: Ability to foster supportive relationships with individuals facing mental health challenges. Proficiency in MS Office applications is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a mental health technician in a psychiatric environment.
- Knowledge of co-occurring disorders.
- Experience with electronic medical records.
This position may require flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of our clients. Physical demands include the ability to lift and maneuver at least 50 pounds and maintain mobility throughout the shift.
As part of our commitment to a safe and supportive workplace, candidates must successfully complete Therapeutic Options training and CPR certification. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
