Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients in resolving minor difficulties and answer their questions in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide chair-side assistance to our dentists during patient treatments.
  • Prepare operatory areas for patient treatment, adhering to our department's protocols and guidelines.
  • Expose and develop dental radiographs in accordance with state regulations and our department's directives.
  • Perform independent procedures as delegated and directed by our dentists, ensuring compliance with state regulations and our department's protocols.
  • Maintain dental department equipment in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and our department's policies.
  • Ensure all dental department areas are maintained in compliance with our department's directives, protocols, and center policies related to infection control, exposure control, and safety issues.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate operatory supplies, and report shortages for inventory control and ordering purposes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documents, ensuring compliance with our department's protocols and center policies.
  • Receive and place necessary telephone calls related to professional matters, clinic business, and patient care.
  • Ensure the sterility of all reusable dental instruments and equipment, adhering to our department's directives and protocols.
  • Properly dispose of contaminated or potentially contaminated materials, in accordance with our department's directives, center policies, and state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in health promotion and disease prevention activities, both on-site and off-site, as required.
  • Perform other related and/or necessary tasks as directed by a supervisor, to achieve organizational and programmatic goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED certification.
  • At least one year of experience in a dental office setting.
  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification is preferred.
  • Radiation Safety certification is required.
  • Coronal polishing certification is also required.
  • Able to travel between clinics is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
