Senior Assembler Job Description

Saab, Inc. in East Syracuse, NY is seeking an experienced Senior Assembler to join the Manufacturing/Production team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work from wire diagrams and engineering drawings to create initial layouts and assemble required components using hand and/or power tools.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and produce or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications.
  • Understand sophisticated electro-mechanical assembly operations concepts and apply them to resolve complex issues and meet company objectives.
  • Apply ESD principles and safeguarding, and use hand tools such as wire cutters, strippers & crimpers properly.
  • Identify tasks to resolve independently and contribute to process improvement and development.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree, technical/business school, or equivalent; may vary by functional area.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, including advanced support skills and extensive knowledge of tools, software, and other technologies.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and assembly drawings.
  • Technical product trouble shooting skills and general electronic soldering skills and inspection requirements.
