Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Scribe to join our team at Hardin Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our healthcare providers by accurately documenting patient information, managing medical records, and ensuring seamless communication between healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accompany healthcare providers during patient visits and document comprehensive medical notes, including patient history, physical examination findings, and treatment plans.
  • Input orders for procedures, laboratory tests, and medications as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Enter billing details and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Assist in medical procedures and provide general care to patients.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and monitor patient reactions.
  • Educate patients and their families on diagnostic procedures, medications, and overall health maintenance.
  • Welcome patients, prepare them for physical examinations, and screen them for pertinent information.
  • Arrange follow-up appointments and procedures as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Interact professionally with colleagues and maintain accurate patient records.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program.
  • Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree required.
  • A minimum of one year nursing experience in an acute healthcare setting.
  • Current Registered Nurse license to practice in Tennessee.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA).
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds during a scheduled work shift.
  • Ability to see with corrective eye wear.
  • Ability to hear clearly with assistance.
  • May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests, including random and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
