The Specialist is tasked with preparing progress documentation, IEP forms, and observation records while supervising assistant educators.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Setting both short-term and long-term objectives based on individual student requirements.
- Assisting in the evaluation and modification of educational needs and improvement strategies.
- Fostering a positive, organized, and secure learning atmosphere.
- Effectively managing time, resources, and classroom materials.
- Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of best practices and effective methodologies for teaching students with autism and related conditions.
- Establishing and upholding efficient record-keeping systems.
- Analyzing data for instructional planning and program assessment.
- Demonstrating expertise in subject matter content.
- Completing bi-annual progress assessments.
- Customizing instruction in group settings to meet diverse student needs.
- Applying learning principles and effective teaching strategies in instructional delivery.
- Participating in scheduled meetings for professional development and preparation.
- Submitting detailed weekly lesson plans that outline objectives and methodologies.
- Creating a diverse classroom schedule that aligns with essential curricular content and developmentally appropriate activities.
- Evaluating and documenting student engagement, attendance, knowledge acquisition, and behavioral progress.
- Following up on attendance and behavioral concerns through communication with parents, as necessary.
- Identifying signs of student distress or abuse and taking appropriate action according to established protocols.
- Utilizing suitable materials and technology to meet the educational needs of all students.
- Encouraging active student participation in the learning process.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, students, parents, and the community.
- Collaborating with other professionals and parents to enhance educational outcomes.
- Engaging in continuous professional growth through training and educational opportunities.
- Conducting self-assessments to identify professional development needs.
- Exemplifying professional and ethical behavior in all interactions.
- Completing all required documentation and maintaining accurate records.
- Supporting school improvement initiatives through active involvement in various programs.
- Ensuring continuous and appropriate student growth and achievement.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the Educational Director or Administration.
- Upholding professionalism and a positive representation of the organization.
- Adhering to school policies as outlined in the Employee Manual.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's degree in ABA, psychology, education, or a related field.
- Training in working with individuals with varying exceptionalities.
- A minimum of two years of successful experience in the ABA or educational field.
- Experience working with children in a classroom setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Master's degree in ABA, psychology, education, or a related field.
- Flexibility in teaching areas with multiple certifications.
- Experience working with adolescents or young adults with significant behavioral challenges.
