The OB Nurse is tasked with delivering comprehensive care to obstetric patients throughout various stages, including pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. This role involves:

  • Assessment: Evaluating the physical, emotional, and educational needs of obstetric patients.
  • Support: Providing care and assistance during labor and delivery.
  • Medication Administration: Administering medications and monitoring vital signs as necessary.
  • Surgical Assistance: Aiding in cesarean sections and other surgical interventions.
  • Patient Education: Informing patients and their families about pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.
  • Collaboration: Working alongside other healthcare professionals to formulate and execute patient care plans.
  • Documentation: Keeping accurate records of patient care in the medical documentation.
  • Environment Maintenance: Ensuring a safe and hygienic atmosphere in the obstetric unit.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • Current RN licensure.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an OB Nurse capacity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Resilience under pressure and in high-stress situations.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.

The OB Nurse plays a vital role within the healthcare team, ensuring the health and well-being of mothers and their newborns. This is a contracted travel position.
