Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Charge Nurse to join our ICU Stepdown team at 3W ICCU. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the unit, protecting and promoting health, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through nursing diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and support for staff through effective problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Be a primary clinical resource for staff on assigned unit.
  • Represent the leadership of the unit in the absence of the Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager, or Director.
  • Assign staff to ensure equipment checks are completed: PCX controls, crash cart, refrigerator temps, red books, and narcotic counts.
  • Monitor breaks to provide adequate staffing.
  • Assign staff to ensure patient care issues are documented and reported.
  • Provide patient care as needed/requested.
Requirements
  • CA RN license.
  • BLS.
  • Kaweah Health approved crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire/transfer.
  • ACLS within one year of hire/transfer.
  • Preferred: Nationally recognized certification per specialty Core Curriculum Pathway.
  • Preferred: BSN, MSN, or currently enrolled in RN-BSN program.
  • Preferred: Minimum of two years RN experience in specialty area.
