FULL POSITION DETAILS: Our organization is in search of a highly organized and proactive Logistics Operations Supervisor to manage the daily functions of our warehouse. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, efficiently organize warehouse activities, and oversee various projects related to logistics operations. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our warehouse functions seamlessly, maintains an orderly environment, and meets operational objectives.

The selected individual will be accountable for:

  • Team Leadership and Staff Development:
    • Direct, manage, and schedule a small team of warehouse personnel to ensure efficient operations.
    • Provide training for new hires and ongoing development for existing staff regarding warehouse processes and safety measures.
    • Assess employee performance, deliver regular feedback, and foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
    • Collaborate with other warehouse associates and cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives.
    • Maintain effective communication with team members and management.
  • Warehouse Management:
    • Assist in planning and executing the warehouse layout to maximize space and workflow efficiency.
    • Ensure the warehouse is organized and maintained to high standards, facilitating easy access to items.
    • Oversee storage and material handling to enhance efficiency and reduce handling times.
  • Project Coordination:
    • Lead logistics-related projects such as reorganizing storage, implementing new systems, or other initiatives aimed at boosting efficiency and productivity.
    • Work with other departments to ensure alignment of projects with overall business objectives.
  • Equipment Management:
    • Safely operate warehouse machinery, including forklifts and pallet jacks, adhering to proper procedures and maintenance schedules.
  • Inventory Oversight and Quality Assurance:
    • Receive, inspect, and accurately document incoming shipments of laboratory supplies.
    • Organize and maintain inventory for efficient storage and retrieval.
    • Conduct regular cycle counts and assist in periodic physical inventory audits.
    • Utilize warehouse management systems to monitor inventory movements and generate reports for management.
    • Inspect products for damages, defects, or discrepancies and report issues to management.
    • Ensure all items meet quality standards prior to shipment.
    • Provide stock counts to other departments as required.
  • Order Processing:
    • Accurately pick and pack orders based on customer specifications.
    • Prepare shipments for delivery, ensuring proper documentation and labeling.
    • Coordinate with carriers for incoming and outgoing shipments.
    • Unload containers and verify shipping documents, resolving discrepancies as necessary.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce safety standards in accordance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct regular safety drills and ensure all staff are equipped with necessary safety gear and training.
    • Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
    • Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.

The ideal candidate will also possess:

  • A high school diploma is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a warehouse setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Certification to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Proven ability to effectively organize warehouse operations and lead small teams.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management software and technologies.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Competence in computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.

Salary Range: $22-$24/hr
