The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be a reliable team player with excellent multitasking abilities.

QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:

  • Strong culinary skills; formal culinary education is preferred but not essential
  • A minimum of 3 years of kitchen experience, ideally in upscale dining establishments or premium catering services
  • Creative and innovative mindset with a commitment to high-quality standards
  • Thorough understanding of diverse cooking techniques, ingredients, tools, and procedures
  • Proficient knife skills
  • Ability to execute tasks with precision and efficiency
  • Familiarity with inventory management and recipe standardization
  • Capability to follow and adjust recipes as necessary
  • Solid knowledge of sanitation standards; DOH food protection certification is advantageous but not required
  • Demonstrates initiative, self-motivation, and flexibility as a team player

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and organize workstations with all essential supplies
  • Assist in food preparation for events (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meats, preparing sauces)
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to cook menu items
  • Follow instructions from the Sous Chef and Head Chef
  • Maintain cleanliness of the workstation and restock supplies as needed
  • Ensure food quality and timely execution of dishes
  • Label and date all food preparations accurately
  • Adhere to HAACP regulations and safety protocols
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with colleagues and clients
  • Ensure proper labeling and packaging of menu items for events
  • Physical ability to reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and availability for weekends and holidays based on production needs
