Financial Cost Analyst

Our client, a leading Tier 1 Design & Build Contractor primarily focused on the water sector, is executing a substantial portion of a major program involving clean and wastewater non-infrastructure projects across Scotland.
They are seeking a Financial Cost Analyst to join their team in Glasgow, where you will report directly to the Cost Manager and the Head of Finance.
In this role, you will be responsible for verifying costs with vendors and suppliers, estimating expenses, and proposing cost-reduction strategies to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Input weekly plant tickets into IFS/Oracle and maintain excel plant returns.
2. Collaborate with site teams to review the Purchase Order Status Report for any missing tickets.
3. Generate and distribute weekly cost reports to site teams and the Shared Services Center (SSC).
4. Ensure proper use of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Coding System.
5. Resolve invoice queries by liaising with suppliers, the procurement department, site teams, and SSC.
6. Review aged plant accruals for accuracy.
7. Assess site plant records and compare supplier live hire reports against plant reports.
8. Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Cost Manager or Head of Finance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in computer and IT applications.
- A proactive approach to work and problem-solving.
