NICU Nurse

The NICU Registered Nurse is a critical member of our healthcare team, providing exceptional care to newborn babies who require intensive medical attention. As a NICU Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing and caring for neonatal patients, providing age-appropriate and culturally sensitive care, and collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to assess and care for neonatal patients, including identifying and prioritizing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes.
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care that is sensitive to the unique needs and circumstances of each patient and family.
- Assist with medical procedures and treatments, including administering medications, performing diagnostic tests, and providing wound care.
- Monitor specialized equipment and patient conditions, including vital signs, laboratory results, and other relevant data.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members, including physicians, therapists, and other nurses, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Participate in discharge planning, including developing and implementing individualized discharge plans, coordinating post-discharge care, and ensuring patient and family understanding of post-discharge instructions.
- Evaluate patient care and revise plans as needed, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain a safe and supportive patient/family environment, including ensuring patient and family confidentiality and respecting patient and family autonomy.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, including teaching patients and families about their conditions, treatments, and self-care strategies.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, including adhering to hospital policies and procedures, maintaining accurate and complete records, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
- Current Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- Minimum 1 year NICU experience, with a strong understanding of neonatal care principles and practices.
- NRP certification required.
- Completion of Amergis' Competency program if applicable.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and respect patient and family autonomy.
