The Construction Laborer will report directly to the Foreman or Superintendent and will play a vital role within the team.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Installing, removing, or maintaining piping systems beneath bridges.
- Handling items weighing over 50 lbs., with or without mechanical assistance.
- Performing outdoor tasks in various weather conditions and standing for extended periods.
- Working at different heights and occasionally over water.
- Driving company vehicles to transport materials and equipment.
- Collaborating with team members to enhance productivity and meet project deadlines.
- Learning and adhering to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
- Working alongside Superintendents, Foremen, and colleagues to acquire new skills (e.g., operating specialized equipment).
- Utilizing precision or semi-precision tools safely as required.
- Engaging in physical activities such as bending, lifting, climbing, and carrying materials as necessary.
- Ensuring quality control of work performed.
- Completing additional tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma and/or completion of Vocational School; a college degree is a plus.
- Class A CDL is preferred.
- A valid and current driver’s license is mandatory.
- Successful completion of a background check.
- Motor Vehicle Record will be reviewed biannually.
- Familiarity with intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to work collaboratively with field staff, project management, and internal teams.
- Comfortable working at heights and over water.
- Capability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure situations.
- Self-motivated with strong leadership skills and the ability to set personal goals.
- Willingness to travel and work at various job sites across the United States for approximately 90% of the year.
- Conducting daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) or similar assessments using designated software.
- Aptus Group USA, LLC maintains a Drug-Free Workplace. Candidates must pass pre-employment and random DOT-regulated drug tests.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or an equivalent role (experience in Utility or Outside Plant is advantageous).
- Knowledge of safety standards and their enforcement.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly lifting items over 50 lbs., with or without mechanical assistance.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and stand for prolonged periods.
- Full use of hands and fingers for operating precision tools.
- Daily physical exertion, including bending, lifting, climbing, and carrying.

- Ability to meet fitness standards for DOT CDL physical/medical card.
