Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Family Medicine Team at Essentia Health in Brainerd, Minnesota. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support our healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine patient assessments, including vital signs and medical histories, to assist in diagnosing and monitoring patient health.
  • Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring proper infection control and patient safety.
  • Administer prescribed medications, including injections and oral drugs, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, and assist in coordinating follow-up appointments and referrals.
Requirements
  • Current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant or licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the relevant state.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, with certification required within one year of hire (must pass certification within two attempts).

Work Environment

This position will work 24 hours per week, with no weekends or call obligations. The shift schedule will be 8 hours per day, with a day shift from 7:30AM to 5:00PM.
