About the Role

Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated student to fill the role of Environmental Sustainability Specialist in our Leeds, AL office.

This internship opportunity is perfect for students interested in gaining comprehensive experience and knowledge in the environmental aspects of the construction materials business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform environmental audits to ensure regulatory compliance and corporate sustainability goals
  • Evaluate on-site permit compliance for RMC, HMA, and mining operations
  • Prepare regulatory environmental permit applications and reports
  • Assist environmental managers with routine tasks and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Help facilitate community relations and sustainability initiatives
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university/college majoring in environmental science, engineering, or a related field
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS proficiency preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with high-level interpersonal relationship skills

We offer competitive compensation, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The estimated annual salary range for this position is $48,000 - $62,000, depending on the candidate's background and qualifications.
