Material Handler

We are seeking a highly skilled Material Handler to join our team at Veolia North America. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to the movement and handling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the hazardous waste or chemical industry, with proficiency in handling forklifts and a variety of tools. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are also essential for this role.

• Loading and unloading containers, including totes, drums, tankers, and trailers
• Constructing boxes and/or fiber containers and stacking, labeling, and loading them
• Using a range of tools such as impact wrenches, shovels, jackhammers, etc.
• Transporting hazardous waste materials from storage facilities within the facility as directed
• Decontaminating and disposing of empty drums and/or containers according to RCRA and disposal guidelines
• Assisting in completing all necessary paperwork for processing materials, including transportation to and from various locations
• Performing general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Inspecting material handling equipment as directed

• High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred
• Prior work experience of 3 to 6 months in the hazardous waste or chemical industry in a related position with proficiency in handling forklifts and a variety of tools preferred
