About the Job

This 13-week assignment requires an Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality care to patients in need of rehabilitation services. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment and evaluation skills, as well as experience developing personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.

The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting initial assessments, using standardized tests and interviews to evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities. They will also develop comprehensive evaluation reports, identifying areas of improvement, potential goals, and required interventions.

In addition to assessing and evaluating patients, the Occupational Therapist will create individualized treatment plans based on assessment results. They will set measurable goals for improvement in areas such as self-care, mobility, work performance, and cognitive skills. The therapist will also recommend appropriate therapeutic activities and exercises tailored to each patient's abilities and progress.

The job description also includes providing therapeutic interventions, implementing individualized therapy programs to improve motor skills, cognitive function, sensory processing, and social interaction. The Occupational Therapist will work closely with patients on ADLs, including dressing, bathing, cooking, and using adaptive equipment for mobility.

Patient education and support are also essential aspects of this role. The Occupational Therapist will educate patients and their families about the rehabilitation process, techniques, and strategies for enhancing functional independence. They will provide guidance on using adaptive equipment and tools, offer emotional support, and encourage patients throughout the recovery process.

Collaboration and communication are critical skills for this position. The Occupational Therapist will work closely with other healthcare professionals, participate in care planning meetings, and share insights about patients' progress and therapy requirements. Regular communication with families and caregivers will also be necessary to update them on progress and offer guidance on supporting patients' therapy goals at home.

Documentation and reporting are important responsibilities for the Occupational Therapist. They will maintain accurate and detailed records of patients' progress, therapy sessions, and any modifications made to treatment plans. The therapist will document and report patient progress in compliance with healthcare regulations, complete necessary reports, and update care teams on patient progress, challenges, and success.

In terms of salary, Magnet Medical offers a competitive package based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week. Tax-free stipends are also available, although the exact amount will be determined upon confirmation.
