Job Title: Advanced Practice RN 1 or 2

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. The successful candidate will provide advanced nursing functions and healthcare services in specialized areas, working under the supervision of a senior APRN or delegating physician.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complete physicals and provide treatment to clients
  • Operate under a written nurse protocol agreement with a delegating physician
  • May prescribe medication in some cases
  • Provide counseling and education to clients

Requirements:

  • Doctorate or Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Certification in the specialty area(s) approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
  • Two years of nursing experience
  • Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Georgia License as a APRN
  • Current certification in specialty area
  • CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous public health experience in Women's Health and all other programs
  • Experience with the Georgia BCCP program guidelines
  • Experience with prenatal exams and OB patients
  • Experience with IUD insertions/removals and Nexplanon insertion/removals
  • Experience with Women's Health and STD exams
  • Experience and knowledge of Expanded Role and APRN protocols and guidelines for the State of Georgia
  • Written and oral proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Previous experience with VHN (Visual Health Net) computer system
