Job Title: Senior Level Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Level Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ryder System. As a Senior Level Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing complex mechanical and electronic repairs on heavy-duty vehicles, including diesel engines, transmissions, and brakes.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer tools
  • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of the complaint
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
  • All other certification as required by location
What We Offer:
  • Competitive hourly pay
  • Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700
  • Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter - four times per year
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, weekends off
  • Hours: Second shift, 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm
