Lead Phlebotomist

We are seeking a Lead Phlebotomist for our esteemed client.

Compensation: $23.11/hr - $25.20/hr

• Perform blood draws, accurately label specimens, and manage specimen centrifugation.
• Collect and preserve specimens in accordance with established protocols.
• Clearly articulate the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods to patients.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using both straight and butterfly needles.
• Comprehend and execute all physician orders effectively.
• Ensure laboratory requisition forms are correctly matched with specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, and prepare specimens as dictated by testing requirements.
• Verify all test requisitions or computer labels for accuracy.
• Package specimens appropriately for transport.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and ensure proper labeling and handling to maintain specimen integrity.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Participate in annual training sessions.
• Respond to inquiries by reading laboratory results over the phone.

• Valid Phlebotomy certification as mandated by state regulations.
• At least 6 months of experience in performing venipunctures in a high-volume laboratory or hospital environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
