Pediatric Nurse Job Description

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Pediatric Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Job Summary:

The Pediatric Nurse will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients, collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, and promoting a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients, identifying their physical, emotional, and social needs, and develop plans to address these needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Stay current with best practices and evidence-based guidelines in pediatric nursing, and apply this knowledge to improve patient care.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in pediatric nursing, preferably in an inpatient setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
