The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace's strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. This division leverages engineering disciplines against a diverse portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges, spanning the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment and application of space-enabled capabilities.

The Director of the Tracking Architecture Performance Department (TAPD) within the Integrated Performance Subdivision leads an organization conducting model-based analyses, empowering teams to deliver differentiated insights. The department supports customers in modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of missile defense and space domain awareness architectures, serving as a center of excellence for tracking methods that fuse data from diverse sources.

Work Requirements:

This full-time position requires 100% onsite work in eligible locations. Please note that relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide the development of MS&A capabilities and products to support decision making for missile defense and space domain awareness architectures.
  • Foster the creation of a center of excellence for tracking methods that fuse data from diverse sources.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and collaborators through effective working relationships.
  • Create an organizational culture promoting innovation, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Cordinate complex technical tasks among customers, manage resources efficiently, and ensure quality and accuracy of work products.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop staff through formal and informal performance management, evaluation, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Monitor, direct, and improve the organization's processes, functions, compliance, and safety awareness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or related discipline
  • At least 10 years of experience leading studies and analysis teams, coordinating complex technical tasks, and translating customer needs into viable instructions.
  • Demonstrated strength in modeling, simulation, and analysis of space systems and their dependencies.
  • Experience identifying, prioritizing, and resolving technical and personnel issues.
  • Experience with staff development and mentoring.
  • Ability to flex communication styles for productive interactions with staff, collaborators, and customers.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10-25% of the time.
  • A current and active TS/SCI clearance issued by the U.S. government, which requires U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in a customer-facing organization
  • Knowledge of government space mission architectures and mission-effects chains involving multi-target tracking architectures
  • Demonstrated strength in architecture and sensor-level simulations and evaluation, mission performance assessments with emphasis on multi-target tracking, detection, and estimation
  • Experience collaborating in major MS&A initiatives across other FFRDCs, government entities, UARCs, SETAs, and/or industry
  • Financial and business acumen through program/business unit leadership
  • Master's or PhD degree in related STEM discipline

Compensation:

This role offers a competitive compensation package, with a salary range of $168,200 - $252,400 per year, based on performance and qualifications.
