Role Summary:
The Ambulatory Care Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) operates under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, adhering to the professional standards and ethical guidelines set forth for nursing practice. The LPN is responsible for delivering fundamental nursing care, which includes, but is not limited to:
- Administering medications, including injections.
- Obtaining and documenting vital signs.
- Ensuring the proper handling of medications and supplies.
- Completing delegated procedures and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
The LPN will:
- Monitor and document patient care and responses accurately.
- Communicate effectively with RNs or licensed independent practitioners regarding any changes in patient conditions.
- Recognize urgent situations and collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality medical care.
- Provide education to patients and their families tailored to the goals of the Veterans.
- Uphold infection control and safety protocols, ensuring the confidentiality of patient information.
- Assist in minor procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Active and unrestricted licensure as a practical or vocational nurse.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
