Position: Senior Electrical Facilities Engineer
This role involves collaboration with a prominent provider of mission-critical data center solutions. They ensure the reliability of critical infrastructures for major enterprises and government entities, catering to Enterprise Clients, Colocation Providers, and Hyperscale Companies. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee both scheduled and emergency maintenance on advanced critical systems, including medium voltage switchgear, diesel generators, UPS systems, power distribution units, fire suppression systems, security measures, and building management systems related to electrical power.
- Diagnose issues and perform preventive maintenance and urgent repairs on critical facility equipment within the data center as per established schedules.
- Supervise the management of subcontractors and vendors on-site, ensuring compliance with established protocols and procedures.
- Assist in preparing analyses and reports concerning the data center infrastructure, develop project plans, and provide updates to the Critical Facilities Manager.
- Manage local client interactions and serve as the primary contact for the organization at this location.
- Establish performance metrics, conduct evaluations, and generate reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance.
- Collaborate with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and enhance plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Create, implement, and manage Method of Procedures (MOPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all work on critical facilities and data center equipment.
- Schedule work activities while adhering to specified change control and management protocols.
- Maintain a state of readiness to support the mission goal of achieving 99.999% uptime.
- Assist with the management of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) database.
Qualifications:
- 5 to 10+ years of experience in data center or critical facility operations and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of critical power and electrical power systems, including UPS, generators, switchgear, power distribution units, DC power systems, and building monitoring/control systems.
- Experience in supervising or managing technical staff in critical facilities.
- Relevant certifications or training in electrical designations.
- Experience working with electrical trades is advantageous.
- Proven experience in customer interface and support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Military experience is a significant plus, particularly in electrical or mechanical roles.
- Familiarity with various computer systems and applications, including CMMS for inventory tracking.
