Job Summary

The Vice Chancellor of Finance is a key leadership position responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to the finance department and budget management for the campus service areas. This role requires a strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and compliance with college policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to the finance department and budget management for the campus service areas.
  • Develop and administer annual operating, capital, utilities, and lease budgets.
  • Direct the collection, safeguarding, accounting, and distribution of all funds.
  • Develop and administer all campus service area policies to ensure compliance with college policies and practices.
  • Prepare and present monthly and annual financial reports to the Campus Board of Trustees.
  • Monitor departmental expenditures to ensure budgetary control.
  • Employ, train, evaluate, and facilitate corrective action, as required, of business office and facilities personnel.
  • Responsible for accounts receivables and fixed asset management.
  • Oversee procurement processes at the campus level in accordance with the College purchasing policy.
  • Provide financial data to support applications for state and federal funds.
  • Oversee third-party contracts/grants from governmental agencies in conjunction with System Office Sponsored Program Accounting Staff.
  • Serve as liaison with bookstore manager on matters relating to the contractual provisions of bookstore services provided by the campus' private bookstore manager.
  • Plan and manage vending services.
  • Serve on the Administrative Cabinet, Resource Allocation Committee, and other statewide and campus service areas committees as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred.
  • Five years of related experience.
  • Three years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree, CPA, CMA, or other related certifications.
