The Senior Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as an experienced caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long-term care. Demonstrates expert level experience as a certified nursing assistant and assists other staff as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
- Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan.
- Assists the resident in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
- Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for the resident.
- Documents resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicates resident's changing condition and care related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Two years' clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing.
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
