Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Water Treatment Plant Operations Supervisor to join our team at Centennial Water & Sanitation District. As the Water Treatment Plant Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the treatment operations and equipment, supervising the operations team, and coordinating with other departments and outside entities to ensure compliance with State and Federal Regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and instruct the operations team to ensure compliance with permits, policies, procedures, regulatory agency, quality standards, and the proper performance of operational duties.
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise operational activities, procure necessary materials, assign staff to a wide variety of operational projects and tasks.
  • Develop and maintain records, files, and databases relating to the water and wastewater facilities.
  • Analyze and make recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the water and wastewater systems.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly DMR, NPDES, and turbidity reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Respond to on-call questions from operations team and coordinate emergency response to water/wastewater or other related emergencies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire class "A" level operator certification in wastewater. Able to maintain class "A" certification.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in operation of water/wastewater facilities.
  • A minimum of three years' leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.

Hazards encountered in the operations include possible exposure to toxic, corrosive, caustic, or flammable chemicals. Work may also involve exposure to hazardous fumes, contaminants, and water borne diseases found in the samples collected.

Regularly the employee works in areas that may involve exposure to traffic, inclement weather conditions, confined spaces, moving mechanical parts, electrical panels, wet or humid conditions, high precarious places, fumes, infectious materials, airborne particles, toxic, corrosive, or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, certain areas require hearing protection.
