Location: Millen, GA, Jenkins County Service Center

Key Responsibilities:
  • Food and Supply Management:
    • Maintain and track all food and supplies essential for kitchen operations in compliance with USDA/CACFP/Health Department guidelines.
    • Adhere to budget constraints while submitting timely orders for food and supplies.
    • Ensure proper labeling and rotation of inventory to guarantee freshness.
    • Conduct grocery shopping at local stores as required.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions or supply needs to the Program Manager promptly.
    • Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment and appliances.
  • Sanitation Practices:
    • Follow agency protocols for cleaning and sanitizing all kitchen equipment and supplies.
    • Ensure daily sanitation of sinks, counters, and cooking utensils to prevent contamination.
    • Conduct monthly cleaning of freezers to avoid ice buildup.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times.
    • Aim for a perfect score on food and health inspections.
  • Meal Preparation:
    • Prepare meals in strict adherence to sanitary guidelines set by USDA/CACFP/Health Department.
    • Utilize proper personal protective equipment during food preparation.
    • Plan and serve meals according to established requirements and portion sizes.
    • Post monthly menus and communicate any necessary changes to the Program Manager.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate production records daily.
    • Collaborate with administrative staff to review and correct documentation at month-end.
    • Submit required paperwork for review in a timely manner.
  • Work Schedule Compliance:
    • Adhere to the established work schedule with minimal deviation.
  • Time Off Requests:
    • Submit requests for time off in accordance with agency policies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of food safety practices and portion control is preferred.
  • Previous experience in food service or cooking is advantageous.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening and background check.

40 Hour Work Week, Monday - Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm
