Job Overview

Contribute to the maintenance operations of the organization by ensuring the functionality of plant machinery and facility upkeep, adhering to all food safety standards and OSHA guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical issues in plant machinery (including mechanical drive systems, HVAC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems).
  • Identify and resolve electrical malfunctions in plant equipment (covering wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, electrical installations, transformers, motors, and AC/DC motor drives).
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on all machinery within the facility.
  • Manage building maintenance tasks and repairs (such as air conditioning, lighting, and forklift maintenance).
  • Perform minor repairs on equipment to minimize downtime until comprehensive repairs can be executed.
  • Notify relevant personnel of any food safety and quality concerns.
  • Adhere to all food safety protocols, training, policies, and procedures.
  • Carry out additional job-related tasks as required.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • Associate degree in electronics or maintenance mechanics, or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance mechanic position.
  • Proven experience in repair or preventive maintenance across hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shop, electricity, or electronics.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Understanding of lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Knowledge of boiler operations.
  • Experience with ammonia, freon, or other cooling agents.
  • Ability to perform stick or TIG welding for minor repairs.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Capability to apply basic mathematical concepts to resolve issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to handle various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal oversight and collaboratively within a team to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Aptitude for thriving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
