Job Title: Forklift Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to join our team at Wolter Inc. in Bolingbrook, IL. As a Forklift Mechanic, you will be responsible for traveling to our customers' locations in the greater Chicagoland area and repairing their material handling equipment, such as forklift trucks, aerial equipment, and floor cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Complete all service jobs assigned to you.
  • Communicate with the Road Lead Technician on any unusual service problems encountered or for any technical assistance needed.
  • Attend service training classes to maintain knowledge on new products or for refreshers on products not encountered too often.
  • Complete and submit all paperwork daily for jobs worked on (time cards, maintenance reports with customers' signature).
  • Communicate with dispatcher and/or service office as to status of jobs and availability for new jobs.
  • Identify jobs that should be sent to our shop for repair (due to complexity or safety reasons) and recommend they be sent in.
  • Develop and maintain relationship with territory sales representatives to keep them informed of sales opportunities you might see.
  • Always adhere to safety rules and policies at all times.
Requirements:
  • Mechanical experience, preferably on forklifts, construction equipment, or farm equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical problems.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull, and carry up to 100 lbs.
  • Own tools, good customer service skills, and be dependable.
  • Trade school or secondary education a huge plus.
