The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients of all ages. This includes partnering with patients, families, and care teams to provide holistic care and achieve optimal outcomes.
The RN is expected to possess in-depth knowledge of the professional scope of practice and adhere to the American Nurses Association (ANA) nurse practice standards. This includes meeting these standards legally, professionally, and ethically.
The RN's role is dynamic, requiring flexibility and the ability to make care decisions based on patient condition, reassessing and prioritizing as needed.
Education Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- New Graduate Nurses must successfully complete the HealthEcareers - Client Nurse Residency Program; participation to begin post-hire.
Work Experience
- Prior related nursing experience is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Licensed in the State of Vermont.
- BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
- Unit-specific certifications as required (ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC) per specific department operational framework.
- Completion of endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification based on unit-specific guidelines.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrated proficiency in acute-care nursing, knowledge, and skills.
- Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
Compensation Package
Pay Range: $55.09
