Position Summary

Under the supervision of a Physician, the Radiologic Technologist conducts radiographic examinations. This role involves evaluating patients, assisting the Physician with fluoroscopic procedures, preparing images for analysis, and maintaining patient and departmental documentation, as well as managing supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Evaluates patients and assists the Physician in conducting fluoroscopic procedures, prepares images for diagnostic interpretation, and maintains patient and departmental records, supplies, and equipment.
  2. Confirms Physician orders.
  3. Prepares the x-ray machine according to standard protocols, checking for any malfunctions and reporting issues to the supervisor.
  4. Applies appropriate exposure factors to perform radiographic examinations in accordance with established protocols.
  5. Processes radiographic images.
  6. Ensures patient confidentiality by keeping the x-ray room door closed except when moving patients in and out.
  7. Implements and maintains an efficient workflow program.
  8. Establishes and enforces a maintenance schedule for system components, ensuring cleanliness and service.
  9. Troubleshoots system errors as they occur and responds promptly to end-user inquiries and service requests.
  10. Understands the importance of National Patient Safety Goals.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an accredited Imaging/Radiology program is necessary.
  • Active Radiology Technician/Technologist License in Florida is required.
  • ARRT Certification is mandatory.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers is required.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and consultants in remote settings, as well as work independently.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a complex, matrixed environment are essential.
