Security Training Specialist

The Security Training Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering educational programs through structured lesson plans aimed at instructing contract security personnel stationed at various locations. This position involves the assessment of training statistical data as part of the training needs analysis process to inform training recommendations.

The training sessions will encompass a variety of topics, including but not limited to: Basic and Refresher Training, CPR/First Aid/AED training, Defensive Tactics, Handcuffing, Baton, OC Spray, and Firearms Instruction, as well as National Weapons Detection.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Delivery: Effectively present training materials to ensure comprehension and retention.
  • Data Analysis: Evaluate training statistics to identify areas for improvement and make informed recommendations.
  • Certification Management: Ensure all training certifications are current and meet the required standards.

Qualifications:
  • Training Certifications: Valid certifications in the following areas are mandatory:
  • Basic and Refresher Training: Completion of an accredited Principles of Instruction course or equivalent.
  • Defensive Tactics, Handcuffing, OC Spray, and Expandable Baton: Certification through an approved training program.
  • Firearms Instruction: Completion of an accredited Firearms Instructor course.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED: Certification as an instructor from recognized organizations such as the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in law enforcement or security methodologies.
  • Proven experience as an instructor.
  • Ability to fulfill the requirements of a Protective Security Officer.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for document creation.
  • NWDTP Credentials: Current instructor credentials for the National Weapons Detection Training Program are required.

Educational Background:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Preferred Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Homeland Security, Security Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field is advantageous.

Additional Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a medical examination and drug screening.
  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
