Nurse-RN Per Diem Position

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care and services to a youth and adolescent population with emotional, behavioral, and physical needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with this demographic and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities- Complete comprehensive nursing assessments, evaluations, and treatment plans for the physical and behavioral/emotional health of residents.
- Manage outside provider visits, including annual assessments, and review lab and test results, reporting critical values to providers.
- Order and obtain prior authorizations for medications, dispense medications, and report/discuss observed side effects or concerns with consulting psychiatrists.
- Provide client and family education regarding medications and treatments, collaborate with staff regarding concerns and behaviors, and communicate with medical directors/providers regarding changes in client health/behavior.
- Participate in Interdisciplinary Medication Review meetings, provide training to residential counselor staff, and update discharge planning needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice and based on agency needs.
- RN licensed in New York State.
- 1-2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably working with youth and adolescent populations.
