Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist

Comprehensive Outpatient Joint and Spine Institute (COJSI) is a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and service. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Certified Surgical Technologist will be responsible for maintaining a sterile environment during surgical procedures, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and ensuring the smooth operation of the operating room. This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide support as needed
  • Assist the circulating nurse in maintaining a sterile environment
  • Assist with the preparation and setup of surgical equipment and supplies
  • Participate in the counting and verification of surgical instruments and supplies
  • Transport and store surgical equipment and supplies
  • Assist with the cleaning and reprocessing of surgical instruments and equipment
  • Interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Requirements:
  • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience as a surgical technologist or in a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a sterile environment
