Position Overview

Glen Oaks Community College, a member of the NJCAA Division II and the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA), invites applications for the role of Associate Coach for our Volleyball Program. Key Responsibilities:

The Associate Coach will play a vital role in the planning, organization, and execution of our volleyball program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Support the head coach in delivering on-court training focused on player enhancement, practice sessions, and competitive matches.
  2. Analyze game footage and produce scouting reports utilizing the Hudl platform to prepare for upcoming competitions.
  3. Assist in the transportation of student-athletes to college-sponsored events and contests.
  4. Engage in recruitment efforts and establish rapport with prospective athletes, coaches, and their families.
  5. Contribute to the daily operations of the program, including logistics for travel.
  6. Monitor academic progress and provide necessary support to student-athletes.
  7. Adhere to all institutional policies, regulations, and governing bodies, including the NJCAA and MCCAA.
  8. Manage equipment coordination and inventory.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or Head Coach.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • A minimum of two years of coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, or club level.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
  • A valid driver's license with no restrictions.

Preferred:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Previous experience coaching at the collegiate level.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal communication, and computer skills.
