HSPPS # All staff engaged in program service delivery must possess adequate knowledge, training, experience, and competencies to fulfill their responsibilities.
Licenses / Certifications- Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record – proof of auto insurance within agency limits or reliable transportation.
- Immediate enrollment in the Criminal History Registry-Child Care Division.
- Current Health Appraisal, updated biennially.
- Certification in First Aid and Adult, Infant, and Child CPR.
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with enrollment in a program to obtain a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Preferred: BA or MA in Early Childhood Education or a related field with 21+ semester hours in ECE/Child Development.
- Completion of state-mandated 45-hour coursework or ability to complete within specified timeframes.
- Minimum of one year of experience in an early childhood setting with a diverse group of preschool children aged 3-5.
- This position supports multiple classrooms.
Knowledge to:
- Facilitate effective and nurturing interactions between teachers and children.
- Design and implement educational experiences that ensure effective curriculum delivery.
- Utilize assessment results to promote children's progress in alignment with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework.
- Establish and maintain professional boundaries with families.
- Employ technology for planning, recording, reporting, and monitoring educational and child development services.
Skills/Abilities to:
- Communicate effectively in English; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
- Collect, analyze, and apply data to enhance child outcomes and school readiness.
- Address challenges and make informed decisions.
- Manage time effectively and solve problems in diverse situations.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and community representatives.
