Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to fill a key role at S&H Car Care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of vehicles. This includes performing routine maintenance, identifying vehicle problems, and implementing effective solutions. The Mechanic will work with a range of tools and technology to ensure vehicles are running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose Issues: Utilize diagnostic tools and experience to identify mechanical and electrical problems in vehicles.
  • Perform Repairs: Repair or replace parts as necessary, including engines, brakes, transmission systems, and other components.
  • Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
  • Inspections: Perform thorough vehicle inspections to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
  • Test Drives: Conduct test drives to ensure repairs have been completed successfully.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance work, including parts used and labor time.
  • Customer Interaction: Clearly explain vehicle issues and repair options to customers.
  • Follow Safety Protocols: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as a mechanic or automotive technician.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications preferred.
  • Certifications: ASE certification is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
    • Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle issues.
    • Proficient with diagnostic tools and equipment.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various positions.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily works in a garage or repair shop setting.
  • Exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and various weather conditions when working outdoors.
