We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Web API team at Interactive Brokers Group. This is a hybrid role, with three days spent in the office and two days working remotely.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a key part in designing, developing, and maintaining our cutting-edge Web API platform. This platform provides critical real-time services to third parties, clients, and IBKR's client-facing applications.

As a member of our Web PI team, you will have various opportunities to grow and shape the platform's future. Your responsibilities will include working with business and internal teams to add new features and interfaces as required.

You will also be responsible for writing documentation units and regression tests for new interfaces, as well as writing backend services and/or clients to expose internal services.

In addition, you will provide 3rd Level support to ensure the smooth operation of our platform.

We offer a competitive salary of $140,000 - $180,000 per year, annual performance-based bonus, stock grant, retirement plan 401(k) with company match, excellent health and wellness benefits, paid time off, generous parental leave policy, daily company lunch allowance, corporate events, education reimbursement, and modern offices with multi-monitor setups.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain our Web API platform
  • Work with business and internal teams to add new features and interfaces
  • Write documentation units and regression tests for new interfaces
  • Write backend services and/or clients to expose internal services
  • Provide 3rd Level support
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Proven experience as a Java Developer with expertise in Java, Spring, Vert.x
  • Proficiency in using Git version control for code management and collaboration
  • Strong command of RESTful web services and experience in designing and implementing them
  • Experience with JUnit or other testing frameworks for writing unit and integration tests
  • Solid understanding of software development principles and best practices
  • Experience with WebSockets and real-time communication in a Java-based environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and within a team
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset
  • Continuous learning and staying up-to-date with industry developments
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS) is a plus
  • Previous experience with agile development methodologies is a plus
