The Animal Care Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the shelter, including supervising staff and volunteers, ensuring the health and safety of animals, and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.
This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and train staff and volunteers to ensure the highest level of animal care and welfare.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of animals.
- Manage the shelter's inventory and supplies, including ordering and receiving medical supplies.
- Collaborate with the Director and other staff to develop and implement programs and services.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including animal welfare and safety standards.
- Associate's degree in animal science, veterinary science, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in animal care or a related field.
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
