Phlebotomist I Role Overview

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist I to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a Phlebotomist I, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients in a variety of settings.

**Responsibilities:**
- Collect blood specimens from patients according to established procedures
- Administer oral solutions as required
- Research test/client information and verify orders using lab technology systems and approved tools
- Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required
- Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport
- Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email as appropriate
- Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures
- Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required
- Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner

**Requirements:**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred in California, Nevada, and Washington
- One year phlebotomy experience preferred
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred
- Keyboard/data entry experience
