Job Description

Ryder System is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy duty and medium duty equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems
  • Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks
  • Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of the complaint
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification post-secondary degree or technical certifications, preferred
  • Basic tools, required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
Additional Requirements
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
