The Hardware Asset Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing IT assets throughout their entire lifecycle. This position requires collaboration with various teams and stakeholders, including Finance, Procurement, and Service Desk, to ensure adherence to established procedures for asset management. The individual in this role will focus on enhancing processes, standards, and controls to optimize the utilization of IT assets in alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain comprehensive IT asset management protocols to align with ITIL best practices.
- Conduct regular physical inventories of IT equipment and assets to ensure accuracy and accountability.
- Leverage usage reports to assist in the recovery of missing hardware.
- Generate and present reports from the IT inventory system as needed.
- Collaborate with IT leadership and finance teams to manage costs and budget effectively.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process enhancements and cost efficiencies.
- Education: Preferred Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience with ServiceNow, particularly in asset management and reporting.
- At least 3 years of experience in Asset Management or a related field.
- Advanced understanding of IT asset management principles and practices.
- Strong accountability and commitment to high standards.
- Proven ability to independently identify and resolve issues with sound judgment.
- Proactive approach in navigating unfamiliar situations.
- Ability to align diverse stakeholders and foster collaborative relationships.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with team members and clients.
- Familiarity with ITIL and IT Asset Management (ITAM) principles is essential.
- Analytical skills to assess data for informed decision-making regarding asset optimization.
- Physical capability to lift up to 30 lbs and navigate multiple stockrooms.
- ITIL Foundation certification is required.
