Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant provides critical support to our veteran patients, delivering high-quality care and assistance with daily living activities, diagnostic procedures, and technical nursing treatments. As an integral member of our nursing care team, you will work closely with our nursing staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures, including monitoring vital signs, preparing patients, and performing routine diagnostic tests.
  • Support technical nursing treatments, such as assisting physicians and nurses with patient care and observing patient behavior.
  • Provide direct patient care, including personal care, support duties, and treatments.
  • Use effective communication skills to interact with patients, some of whom may have difficulty communicating.
  • Respond to emergency situations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Enter information into patient records and charts, using the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
  • Teach patients and family members about proper healthcare procedures and reinforce the importance of exercise and diet for cardiac patients.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment of care, ensuring patient privacy and adhering to dress-code policy.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Must pass a background/security investigation.
  • Must complete an online onboarding process.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
  • Must participate in the seasonal influenza vaccination program and the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination program.
Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: six months of general experience, one year of education above high school with courses related to the NA occupation, or completion of an intensive, specialized, occupation-related training course of study.
