Pastry Cook

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our team at Alyeska Resort. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of sweet and savory items, including pastries, cakes, and desserts.

• Prepare and cook recipes as prescribed by the Pastry Chef, ensuring high-quality and presentation standards.
• Participate in assigned product preparation, adhering to standards of quality, quantity control, taste, and presentation.
• Respond to incoming orders in a timely fashion, effectively communicating with management and team members to fulfill orders or address needs/concerns.
• Maintain a clean working environment, adhering to set standards of hygiene and safety.
• Ensure quality, consistency, and cleanliness of kitchen operations.
• Requisition supplies and food items within assigned work areas, ensuring proper processing and placement.
• Assist in conducting inventory on a regular basis to ensure proper par levels.
• Check refrigerators to prevent contamination and waste, ensuring all products are rotated on a first-in, first-out philosophy.

• High School degree or equivalent; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to use scales, mixers, and other small wares, with working knowledge of weights, measures, and various baking and preparation techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as menus, recipes, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively to customers and employees.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts, and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
