The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled HSE Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our regional HSE Teams, you will be responsible for providing front-line HSE support across an assigned operating region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate Safety Activities: Work closely with the Lead HSE Coordinator to ensure the implementation and maintenance of the HSE Management System.
  • Investigate Incidents: Assist in investigations and analyze incident reports to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Correct Hazards: Have authority to correct hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Stop Work Authority: Have the authority to stop work when job activities present unsafe or hazardous conditions.
  • Supervisory Safety Inspections: Assist with supervisory safety inspections, governmental safety standards, and codes.
  • Project Site Inspections: Perform daily project site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Requirements:
  • Industry Experience: 3-5+ years of direct industry-relevant HSE experience with overhead and underground power lines.
  • Certifications: Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS), OSHA 510, or equivalent certifications preferred.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Detailed understanding of Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coach front-line operations personnel.
  • Travel: Ability to travel on short notice and up to 70% (subject to change).
