About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team at EarthCam. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for designing and implementing reliable, scalable, and secure database solutions to meet the evolving needs of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements
  • Collaborate with software development teams to ensure data models align with application requirements
  • Work with stakeholders and system administration teams to understand challenges and roadmap database infrastructure
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party engagements
  • Monitor and tune database performance
  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive data security strategy
  • Provide backup mechanisms and disaster recovery planning
Requirements
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience with clustered and highly available relational databases
  • Minimum 3+ years of providing thought leadership and demonstrating strong problem-solving skills
  • Expertise with MySQL databases
  • Proficiency in writing complex queries relevant to the database platform(s) in use
  • Experience with Clickhouse and timeseries databases such as Prometheus
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as PHP, Perl, or Python
  • Intermediate knowledge of Linux systems administration
