We are seeking a skilled CNC Waterjet Operator 2 Axis to join our team at Ducommun. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for operating 2 axis computer-numerical control (CNC) machines to cut and fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
Key Responsibilities- Operate 2 axis CNC machine to cut and fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts
- Study blueprints, sketches, and drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces
- Measure sheet size of material and compare material identification number to ensure proper material is being cut
- Monitor cutting factors such as speed and feed
- Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications
- Perform basic machine setups and maintenance
- Drill and ream holes
- Responsible for proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in work area
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 6 to 12 months' manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude required
- Basic math skills required - decimals, percentages, fractions; geometry and trigonometry preferred
- Computer skills - able to learn new screens, reports, functions, software programs, and internal ERP systems
