Job Summary

">

This Certified Nursing Assistant-M/S Oncology role supports our medical staff in providing holistic care to patients and families. As a key member of our team, you'll work under the direction of registered nurses to ensure seamless care delivery.

Responsibilities

  1. ">
  2. Report any patient condition variances to licensed staff promptly">
  3. Communicate specific patient or family needs, concerns, and changes in activity to licensed staff">
  4. Refers complaints and problems to licensed staff or department manager immediately">
  5. Answers patient call lights within two minutes as assigned">
  6. Greet patients and family members in a friendly, professional manner, identifying yourself by name and job category">
  7. Assist patients with their needs as assigned">
  8. Participate actively in achieving quality patient care">
  9. Maintain confidentiality with all patient care issues">
  10. Comply with current policies and procedures, including safety and infection control">
  11. Keep required certifications up-to-date">
  12. Perform tasks safely">
  13. Assist nursing staff in performing delegated tasks">
  14. Provide toilet needs assistance for patients, emptying bedpans and drainage containers, and reporting variations in output to RNs">
  15. Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge">
  16. Orient patients to their room, explaining call light usage, storage of belongings, and other essential information">
  17. Assist patients with meals, snacks, and water pitchers">
  18. Support activities of daily living, such as bathing, ambulation, oral care, and more">
  19. Collect and record intake and output, weight, height, and vital signs as delegated by RNs">
  20. Collect respiratory rates through direct observation">
  21. Label, collect, and deliver specimens">
  22. Provide post-mortem care and assist in transporting the body to the morgue">
  23. Respond to emergency situations by participating in crash cart checks, providing CPR, and responding to Code Blue">
  24. Carefully handle personal property belonging to patients">
  25. Adhere to professional appearance guidelines and wear required uniform components">
  26. Maintain a clean, safe, and neat patient environment">
  27. Document all care provided in the EMR as soon as possible after care delivery">

  • For Transitional Care Unit or Subacute: Assist residents to achieve their highest level of physical functioning in ADL activities, working under the supervision of Registered Nurses">
  • For Pediatrics: Perform Unit Secretary duties for the unit">
  • For CVICU and CVICU: May handle syringes/needles for restocking, check and document medication storage temperatures, access the medication room, maintain security, and report concerns">
  • For Obstetrics: May stock IV fluids and Irrigation fluids in locked supply drawers on mother/baby units">
  • For CVICU: May perform phlebotomy duties if certified">

Requirements

  • Current CA Certified Nursing Assistant certification">
  • HeartSaver AED certification">
  • Kaweah Health approved crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire/transfer">

Pay Range

$20.38 - $30.57 per hour
