Job Summary

Under the supervision and/or direction of the physician or nurse, the Medical Assistant - Clinical Support Professional performs various duties assisting with the treatment and care of patients in accordance with established standards.

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant - Clinical Support Professional is responsible for:

  • Performing Point of Care Testing and quality control
  • Performing EKGs as necessary
  • Ensuring positive patient identification
  • Understanding how to utilize various systems, including Current health information system, DI (Document Imaging), DHIN (Delaware Health Information Network), Gold, Provider Portal, and Web sites for insurance verification/eligibility
  • Following protocols appropriate for the practice
  • Completing office support tasks accurately and within required time frames
  • Returning and retrieving messages timely and utilizing the EMR inboxes to sort messages
  • Routinely demonstrating proper technique in operating all office equipment
  • Maintaining clean/stocked patient care area
  • Medical Assistant Skill Proficiency
  • Assisting nurses/techs with patient preparation for examinations, treatments, and/or procedures
  • Prioritizing and demonstrating initiative
  • Readily seeking out duties and working with all staff to render assistance
  • Completing all duties in a positive and productive manner
  • Taking an active role in performance improvement
  • Conscious of biohazard safety as it relates to the job
Qualifications

The Medical Assistant - Clinical Support Professional must have:

  • Two years medical/clinical experience as a Medical Assistant or graduate of Medical Assistant Program
Competencies Skills

The Medical Assistant - Clinical Support Professional must possess:

  • Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal
  • Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members
  • Able To Withstand Crisis Situations
  • Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors
  • Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records
  • Experience In Practice Or Clinic Setting
Credentials

The Medical Assistant - Clinical Support Professional must have:

  • BLS - Basic Life Saving certification
Education

The Medical Assistant - Clinical Support Professional must have:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
Salary

The salary for the Medical Assistant - Clinical Support Professional is:

  • USD $18.25/Hr.
  • USD $28.29/Hr.
