Job Title: Server Trainer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Server Trainer to join our team at 900 Delray LLC. As a Server Trainer, you will be responsible for onboarding and training new servers to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to provide exceptional service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct training sessions for new servers on menu knowledge, service techniques, and guest interaction.
  • Assess new server's performance and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
  • Collaborate with management to develop training materials and update existing resources as needed.
  • Welcome and greet guests, making them feel comfortable and ensuring they know you're there to personally take care of them.
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
  • Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
  • Answer questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system, and relay orders to the kitchen and bar.
  • Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner.
  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
  • Clean tables, doors, floors, floorboards, windows, vents, lights, etc., and maintain a clean and sanitary environment throughout the restaurant.
  • Monitor and observe guests' dining experience, ensuring they are satisfied with the food and service, and respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
  • Prepare final bills, present checks to guests, accept payment, process credit card charges, or make change (if applicable).
  • Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise and assist the busperson with clearing and resetting tables.
  • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
  • Ability to train and motivate team members effectively.
  • Must be patient, approachable, and enthusiastic about teaching.
  • Ability to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours).
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while delivering on our promises to our guests and ensuring a team-focused environment.
  • Must be able to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
